FBCMUD 23 – Fresno Fire Station 52 Groundbreaking

Sep 5, 2022

At a long-anticipated event, the Board of Directors for Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 23 (FBCMUD 23) were honored by the Commissioners of Fort Bend County ESD 7 (FBCESD 7) and the command staff and firefighters of Fresno Fire and Rescue at the groundbreaking of their newest station, Station 52. The event was well-attended by members of the community, as well as Fort Bend County Commissioner Vincent Morales and Chief Bryan Petrilla of Fort Bend County EMS.

The land for Station 52 was donated to FBCESD 7 by FBCMUD 23, and will be the first station built in the Fresno Fire and Rescue service area since the mid-1950’s. This fire station will greatly reduce response times for the surrounding areas, including residences, businesses, and schools within the FBCMUD 23 and 24 boundaries.

FBCMUD 23 Directors Steven Gates and Anzilla Gilmore worked closely with the Commissioners of FBCESD 7 and Chief Anthony Bates to ensure the aesthetics of the building blended seamlessly into the FBCMUD23 community.

The 12,700-square-foot fire station will be located at 1834 W. Sycamore Rd in Fresno. The site is a 2.25-acre area located at the intersection of W. Sycamore Rd. and Teal Bend Blvd. The site will also serve as an administration building for the fire department staff and allow Fort Bend County EMS to house an ambulance and paramedic crew, as needed.

The project is expected to be near completion July 2023.
